If you are like many fiber artists, you have lots of leftover bits and bobs of items from your various craft projects. In this class, we will use these bits and bobs to learn new stitches with needle, yarn or thread, fabric, fiber, felt, beads, buttons, ribbon and more. The class will start with a general review of some easy projects that use stitches that students can work easily for practice. We will do some easy stitching on fabric, felt, or fiber, and incorporate beads, buttons, other embellishments, and more to create a small project like a needle book, pins, bookmark or other embellishment. The focus of this class is not necessarily on technique, but looking at materials in a new way for fun and creative exploration.

Kit fees: Kits that provide the basic materials, including fabric or felt, yarn, thread, some beads and/or buttons, ribbon start at $5 and increase in price from depending on the materials included.

 Skills Required:

Basic needle and thread skills – thread a needle, tie an overhand knot.

Bring to Class:

Students are encouraged to bring any of their own supplies that they would like to use in the class. This may also be an opportunity to share bits and bobs with others in a swap.

Homework (to be completed prior to class):
