Get started with another yarny obsession: hand-spinning. Learn the basics with a compact-disc drop-spindle made with simple objects found around the house and your local hardware store. Get introduced to wool and a few tricks to make spinning it a little easier for the absolute beginner. Plying and dyeing will also be discussed. You will also be introduced to the spinning wheel. Students are encouraged to bring their own spindles and/or wheels for demonstration purposes and will also be tutored by the instructor on how to use them as part of the class.
