Learn how simple it is to create the complex knitted effect of woven basketry. Entrelac is a fun technique that breaks out of the box of long, horizontal knitted rows. This class will get you started on an entrelac scarf or washcloth. The skill of knitting back backwards will also be covered. Be warned! Entrelac is addictive.
Intermediate level knitter, i.e., successfully completed several projects.
Bring to Class:
- Worsted or DK weight yarn (see amounts below)
- Needles size-appropriate for yarn.
To continue your class work into a full scarf, you will need approximately 350 yds/320 m of worsted or DK yarn. For a washcloth class project, you will need approximately 100 yds/92 m of linen or cotton yarn. Yarns with long color changes, such as Noro Kureyon or Silk Garden, look fabulous in entrelac.
