In this class, students will master two-color brioche and create a swatch with interesting shapes by taking advantage of increases and decreases. Participants will start a swatch using two-color Italian cast on and jump into two-color brioche, increases, decreases, and binding off using Italian bind off. By the end of the class, participants will understand the anatomy of two-color brioche knitted in the flat and the most common increases and decreases, abbreviations and symbols to create a reversible fabric.

Skills Required:

Students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and have a basic understanding of brioche.

Bring to Class:

Two skeins of wool worsted yarn (preferably non-superwash wool) in color cream/off white and brown. Each skein should weigh between 25-50g. Please don’t plan on using variegated yarns, slippery yarns, or very dark shades of brown as it will make it difficult to see the colors and slip the stitches. One US #7 16 or 24-inch circular needle, or two long double-pointed needles. Optional: one US#7 straight needle.
