Get ready for a bubbly fun time wet felting soap bars with clean wool fibers. The felted soap bars are fun, quick, and easy to make. Besides making great gifts, they are a great way to teach children about the properties of animal fibers and where wool comes from. I’ll have samples of both raw, stinky, dirty wool as well as washed wool so kids can see and smell the difference. Then they can go home to use their new felted soap for their own bath time.

All soaps will be handmade, both scented with essential oils or unscented to chose from, and free of harsh chemicals. Felted soaps should air dry between uses. Kit purchased during class (required) includes handmade soap, wool fibers, and all necessary items. If you’d like to make more than one felted soap, additional kits will be available for purchase.

Skills Required:

Children 5 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult to participate. It can take 20 minutes or longer to fully felt the wool around the soap, so young children can tire out before they finish.

Bring to Class:

Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little wet and soapy, or bring an apron.

Homework (to be completed prior to class):
